A full DoubleDeck® of Birch is a reassuring sight, with clean, silver-barked logs stacked high and ready to light into bright, lively fires whenever you need them. Kiln-dried to below 20% moisture and Woodsure Ready to Burn certified, Birch is suitable for wood-burning stoves, open fires, fire pits and other suitable solid-fuel appliances, and is also a popular choice for wood-fired saunas.
With approximately 800kg of Birch firewood in each DoubleDeck®, this format suits regular and more frequent burners, as well as hospitality and commercial venues, who want a substantial supply of dry Birch kept ready in storage with fewer repeat orders through the season. Logs are cut to 25cm long and arrive hand-stacked in a timber crate measuring approximately H1.60m × W1.15m × D1.05m, with the wood stacked slightly above the top frame and covered by a recyclable cardboard lid.
Your DoubleDeck® is delivered by tail-lift truck and, where access allows, moved by pallet truck closer to where you plan to store it.
The double pallet is very good value compared to buying 'Nets' of logs from my local supplier. I will definitely purchase it again. The Birch burns with a very nice flame, gives off good heat without discolouring the glass.

Performance ⟶ Birch is kiln-dried to below 20% moisture, lights readily and gives a bright, lively flame with good heat. Its distinctive silver bark and responsive burn make it a strong everyday firewood where easy lighting and visible flame are important. For reference, hardwood at 20% moisture is benchmarked by SEAI at around 4.16 kWh/kg, or approximately 14,200 BTU/kg.
Use ⟶ Start with dry kindling and allow good airflow while the fire is getting established, then adjust the appliance air controls as required. Birch is suitable for wood-burning stoves, open fires, fire pits and other appliances designed for firewood, and is also a popular choice for wood-fired saunas. Always follow the appliance manufacturer’s instructions, use a properly fitting fireguard with open fires and use fire pits outdoors only.
Crate Size ⟶ DoubleDeck® contains approximately 800kg of firewood. Logs are cut to 25cm long, with natural diameter variation of roughly 7–15cm. The external crate dimensions are approximately H1.60m × W1.15m × D1.05m, with the logs stacked slightly above the top frame. The crate contains approximately 1.6m³ of stacked firewood, with an approximate loose / bulk equivalent of 2.3m³ using the SEAI average conversion factor of 1 stacked m³ = 1.43 bulk m³.
Storage ⟶ Store the crate in a dry, well-ventilated location protected from rain and damp. The recyclable cardboard lid covers the logs for delivery but is not intended as long-term outdoor weather protection.
