Over the past decade, we’ve focused on building better wood fuels. Charcoal, however, has often been treated as an afterthought. We decided to change that.
Produced using modern carbonisation processes and made from responsibly sourced European alder wood, it lights quickly and settles into a steady, responsive fire within 15 minutes. With low moisture, low ash, and high fixed carbon, the charcoal ignites cleanly and burns hotter and more efficiently. The pieces are consistent enough to allow airflow from the start, so the fire behaves as expected without constant intervention.
In flavour, Alder adds, not takes. You get a light, clean smoke that doesn’t overpower your food. In professional kitchens, it’s often used for more delicate ingredients like fish, poultry, and vegetables, where heavier woods like Oak would dominate. The smoke is subtle and slightly sweet, adding depth without masking the natural taste of the ingredients.
The 2.5kg bag holds enough fuel for shorter sessions, smaller grills, or when you don’t want to open and store a larger bag. Because sometimes, the best fires are the ones you didn’t plan for, and the last thing you want is fuel that gets in the way.
