Kiln Dried Oak Firewood - Double Deck® Pallet

Stocked For Longer 🔥

There is a different kind of comfort in knowing a long run of Oak fires is already stacked and ready for the season. Dense Oak burns more slowly, giving strong, steady heat, a beautiful flame and longer intervals between refuels. Kiln-dried to below 20% moisture and Woodsure Ready to Burn certified, it is suitable for wood-burning stoves, open fires, fire pits and other suitable solid-fuel appliances. Oak is also a familiar choice for hotels and country properties where real fires are kept burning through the day.

With approximately 800kg of Oak firewood in each DoubleDeck®, this format suits regular and more frequent burners, as well as hospitality and commercial venues, who want a substantial supply of dry Oak kept ready in storage with fewer repeat orders through the season. Logs are cut to 25cm long and arrive hand-stacked in a timber crate measuring approximately H1.60m × W1.15m × D1.05m, with the wood stacked slightly above the top frame and covered by a recyclable cardboard lid.

Your DoubleDeck® is delivered by tail-lift truck and, where access allows, moved by pallet truck closer to where you plan to store it.

I love this wood ... the best thing? The extremely satisfying melodic click you get when you split a piece with an axe - I do this to make kindling - it sounds like a very expensive percussion instrument ... dry as a bone and throws out a lot of heat.

Performance ⟶ Oak is kiln-dried to below 20% moisture and gives a beautiful flame with strong, steady heat, a slower burn and longer intervals between refuels. Its density makes it well suited to sustained fires where duration matters. For reference, hardwood at 20% moisture is benchmarked by SEAI at around 4.16 kWh/kg, or approximately 14,200 BTU/kg.

Use ⟶ Oak is a dense firewood, so it can take a little longer to light and benefits from good airflow while the fire is getting established. Start with dry kindling and keep the appliance air controls open until the logs are burning well, then adjust the airflow as required. Oak may also spark more than some other firewood species, so use a properly fitting fireguard with open fires. Suitable for wood-burning stoves, open fires, fire pits and other appliances designed for firewood. Always follow the appliance manufacturer’s instructions and use fire pits outdoors only.

Crate Size ⟶ DoubleDeck® contains approximately 800kg of firewood. Logs are cut to 25cm long, with natural diameter variation of roughly 7–15cm. The external crate dimensions are approximately H1.60m × W1.15m × D1.05m, with the logs stacked slightly above the top frame. The crate contains approximately 1.6m³ of stacked firewood, with an approximate loose / bulk equivalent of 2.3m³ using the SEAI average conversion factor of 1 stacked m³ = 1.43 bulk m³.

Storage ⟶ Store the crate in a dry, well-ventilated location protected from rain and damp. The recyclable cardboard lid covers the logs for delivery but is not intended as long-term outdoor weather protection.

Our DoubleDeck® firewood is sourced from European forests managed under forestry regulations governing harvesting and regeneration. These rules are designed to control felling and protect forests, soil, water and surrounding habitats.
