City Bag® Kiln Dried Oak Firewood
Oak That Lasts🔥
There is something satisfying about a fire that settles down and keeps going. Oak takes a little more time and airflow to establish, then settles into a slower, steadier burn with strong heat and longer intervals between refuelling. Kiln-dried to below 20% moisture and Woodsure Ready to Burn certified, these Oak logs are ready for use in wood-burning stoves, open fires, fire pits and other suitable solid-fuel appliances.
Each CityBag® holds approximately 100kg of Oak firewood, and the logs are cut to around 25cm long, with a natural diameter variation of roughly 7–15cm. A single CityBag® is roughly comparable in size to a household wheelie bin, giving you a proper stock of longer-burning Oak ready at home while keeping the quantity flexible from one bag to three. You can also save when you buy 2 or 3 CityBags®, depending on how much Oak you want at home.
The CityBag® convenience also carries through to delivery, with our Final 40FT® hand trolley delivery bringing each bag right to your storage area, where safe access allows, so the firewood arrives where you plan to keep it.

Performance ⟶ These Oak logs are kiln-dried to below 20% moisture and give strong, steady heat with a slower, longer-burning character once established. Oak’s higher density means it can take a little longer to get going, but it holds heat well and allows longer intervals between refuelling. For reference, SEAI benchmarks hardwood at 20% moisture at around 4.16 kWh/kg, equivalent to approximately 14,200 BTU/kg.
Use ⟶ Start with dry kindling and allow plenty of airflow while the fire is getting established, as Oak can take a little longer to get going than some other firewood species. Once established, adjust the appliance air controls as required. Oak may spark more than some species, so use a properly fitting fireguard with open fires. Suitable for wood-burning stoves, open fires, fire pits and other appliances designed for firewood. Always follow the appliance manufacturer’s instructions and use fire pits outdoors only.

For comparison with other firewood formats, this is equivalent to approximately 0.20m³ of stacked firewood, or around 0.29m³ loose / bulk equivalent, using the SEAI average conversion factor of 1 stacked m³ = 1.43 bulk m³. These are approximate firewood equivalents rather than the physical volume of the bag.
Storage ⟶ Store your CityBag® in a dry, well-ventilated area protected from rain and damp. Keep the logs under cover and away from persistent ground moisture so they stay dry and ready to burn.
